I recently read a Fortune Magazine/CNN Money article about New Year’s Resolutions. Click here to read the article.
In it, the author outlines new research that indicates the reason many people do not reach their goals (resolutions) is because they set the bar too low. The article recommends that you should stretch yourself when setting goals rather than short-arming it in order to make attainment easier.
Below are a few additional reasons why I believe some people do not reach their goals:
- Your Goals Are Too Vague
- You Fear Failure
- You Fear Success
- The Status Quo Is Too Comfortable
- You Are Resistant to Change
- You Don’t Write Down Your Goals AND Read Them On A Regular Basis
